Thank you, I appreciate it. I feel the urge to work bigger, say about 18x24. But I think it's good to work all sizes. In fact, the smallest I would work was 8x10 until I read Kevin Macpherson's books where he recommends doing quick studies 6x8" But it is excellent practice! Anyway, thanks for the kind comments.

Your paintings on the blog look great! I can't believe how tiny your paintings are. I used to think 9x12 was small! THanks for sharing.

Thank you! I had a great time, between the weather and the positive energy of the other artists. I enjoyed meeting Kevin, also. It was a lot of fun to meet fellow Salmagundi Club members in this setting.

Your paintings turned out beautifully. It was a really wonderful day, I really enjoyed meeting Kevin Macpherson and Joe Anna Arnett (and Kenn Backhause and James Asher).

Thank you for the idea. I've been up there. I'm hoping to find views closer to home, but I may end up heading further north.

Good Luck! :-)

For what it's worth: if you ride the Hudson Line, I think there's a riverside park in Croton-on-Hudson that's walking-distance from the station. It would take over an hour to get there from Brooklyn, though.

I took a photo there long ago, posted here:

Love this post, Ella. Your work is beautiful--transcendent but disciplined too. It's terrific to get to see some of your thinking as you develop it.

Just got notice of this link. I love the blog and watching your process. It's a great extension of your work to have this journal. This theme is a good one. Everyone has a physical corner in their life that felt warm and secure.
